Hi all,
I am looking at starting a new business.
My Business helps new start up businesses & small/medium business Find the right local business to business suppliers.
I will sell new start ups and S/M businesses a privilege card that will entitle them to exclusive discounts with approved local and national business to business suppliers e.g web designers, utility suppliers, office suppliers etc..
If you are thinking of starting a business or have started a business that is classed as small to medium business, I would like to know if this service would be of use to you & would you consider buying such a card?
Please just state yes or no & your reason why.
I am not looking to sell to anyone i just want to see if people would be prepared to pay for a card that entitles them to savings on essential business services.
Thank you for your time,
Chris

I would ONLY buy such a card if it gave a demonstrable discount on a service I required, and the discount was more than the cost of the card.
I'd need to be *very* sure that the supplier I was dealing with was worth the cost, with or without the discount, before I would shell out for a discount card for that supplier.

Thanks for your reply.
Well each supplier will have to be approved and go through a vetting process before they are entitles to advertise to the card members. The process would involve:
5 reference checks
Survey 5 previous customers to ensure the quality of the work provided
Need to confirm details of professional qualifications and membership of any trade associations
Produce a copy of there professional indemnity insurance
Credit checks (when applicable)
One the website there will also be a feedback and review section for card holders to leave feedback once they have used a supplier. This over time will provide the supplier with a feedback % therefore it again is in there interest to maintain excellence service.
The aim of this card will hopefully bring new start ups and local reliable suppliers together to hopefully build lasting working relationships.
With most business to business services which ever is needed tend to be used more than once so the savings over the year will be much more than the card costs. However one of the selling points will be that you will save more than the card is worth through one purchase.
Although the exclusive discounts is one selling point the other that I will try to promote is that i am saving you time by producing a shortlist of quality worth while suppliers that work with start ups on a regular basis.
Thanks again for your help, any more feedback would be much appreciated
Chris

I am looking to price the card at around the £50 mark and if you were to buy a card you would be a member for a year and entitled to all discounts shown on the website. We are looking to sign up 5 companies per category and there will be approximately 20 categories e.g. accountants, printers, web designers etc...
These offers will always be updated so therefore you will always be receiving discounts offers throughout the year.
Thanks for your reply,
Chris

Personally I would not want to pay for this.
I would see it the other way round. Seeing companies like some who have commented above are benefiting from increased sales I would be expecting the card to be free as the providers would cover the costs from the increased sales. I can negociate discounts with providers myself so perhaps of more interest to people like me would be the list of trusted suppliers rather than the discounts offered.
