I am writing this on behalf of my son who is entering into the window cleaning business self- employed.
Does anyone know if you need a special license to work as a window cleaner on domestic propertys?
He has set up with public liabily insurance already.
many thanks [

No is the short answer, unless you have any odd local regualtions.
He will of course need to register with the inland revenue within 3 months of starting up:

If his round is in Scotland there is a legal requirement but not so in England and Wales. Having said that however it helps to contact the local council and police to inform them of the round so that neighbour hood watch schemes are aware of the new face up ladders!
