A government-funded project aimed at educating social entrepreneurs on sustainability has launched a new website to help further develop skills and knowledge in the sector.
The Centre for Business Relationships Accountability, Sustainability and Society (BRASS) at Cardiff University has announced the launch of the Social Enterprise and Waste Management Research Network (SEWRN) website that aims to educate budding and existing social entrepreneurs through a range of research and communication activities.
The site is part of a research project funded by the Department of Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) that seeks to facilitate the exchange of information amongst entrepreneurs by bringing together diverse groups of individuals, research institutions, policy makers, social enterprises and other key stakeholders.
The website will feature a blog and other interactive forums that encourage input from users.
“The Network is a collaborative effort to draw together emerging ideas, relevant information and pertinent activities concerning resource and waste management within the context of the social economy,” said Somesh Candrashekar, project leader.
“We are currently developing a number of events designed to bring researchers and practitioners in this area together to disseminate new ideas and to discuss issues of importance”.
The address for the new SEWRN website is http://www.socialenterprisesandwaste.org.uk/.
