what do you mean by tour operator software?

Do you want software that will enable you to build your own inventory, or do you want software that will allow you to search existing tour operators for flights and holidays?

You'll probably need something custom built if you want to be a tour operator, or you could try http://www.comtec-europe.co.uk, but if you want to search for holidays,flights etc the best software around is called Easysell and it's built by a company called Comtec-Europe. You'll need to have an ABTA number to use it, and I believe the licence fee per licence is around £20 per month, however I know the fee changes depending on the number of licences you require. If you need details of a contact at Comtec let me know. The software gives you viewdata access and brochure content as an addon.

Alternatively there is NTL's Traveleye software, which is around the same price however I don't think it is as good as Easysell. It's similar to Easysell, both are web based and Traveleye offers brochure content too.

Telewest do something called Endeavor/Fastrack I think it's called, I believe its only a viewdata system though.

For all the software above you'll need ABTA and passwords from the tour operators you wish to use.

want software to enable me to custom build my inventory. currently my inventory is in a mess...as everything is done manually. want to organise my suppliers, clients, track quotes, invoices and organise my communication channels.

mainly handle bookings on accommodation, tours and conference venues.

Do you want to have a system where you display available accommodation through your website, and let clients make bookings through the website? If so then this is something you are unlikely to find free software for - but you can assemble a solution at as low as cost as possible.

For example -

* Find a great free/low cost Windows based accommodation booking software.
* Have software written so the booking software can talk to your website.
* Update the website so it can display available accommodation (from the booking software) and receive bookings (which go into the booking software).

This will only work if -

1) You can find useful, working free/low cost accomodation booking software.
2) The booking software has a means to easily export/import data.

That would be a cost effective solution because it would be expensive to build accommodation booking software that offers more than rudimentary features (i.e. to allow for peak season rates, rates per room, capacity, etc..).
