Young Guns Ltd
Judges’ Comments: Set up by three young friends in 2005 with no outside funding and an overdraft of just £1,500, Young Guns has already grown into a highly profitable business inside of just 2 years.
Through managing and promoting over 500 young musicians, they have provided an effective route to market for highly talented individuals in a very competitive market.
But as well as marketing musicians they also create their own bands and have just signed their first £1million contract with Universal and are on the verge of signing a second with Sony BMG.
All this has been achieved through demonstrably developing a fantastic team. Roles and structures are clearly defined with robust systems put in place to maximise creative input and to facilitate interaction within the organisation with the team participating in daily brainstorming session. They provided a number of testimonials that supported the young guns application as a creative, original and enthusiastic team. The judges were particular convinced of their understanding of what makes an effective team through the team building sessions that they also run.
This included teaching one corporate party of some 300 delegates to perform a symphony piece in just 90 minutes.
