Always loved the idea of running my own small cafe/food bar, along with the idea of offering small simple tapas dishes served with baguettes etc at reasonable prices.
Due to funds I would have to start off small, such as in catering trailer, but only a small one. What are peoples views?

Hi hicksy,
Pretty much any ideas are cool, you could even have the best idea in the world...But if there is no market or demand for it, then there's no point in pursuing it or you have to create that demand...It’s as simple as that!
Where are you setting up, Is there any in the area already? Do people even want it? Are they willing to pay your prices? These might sound negative, but it’s the basic stuff that needs to be done first. You may find that you ask thousands of people in your local town over the course of a few weeks and they all say that they wouldn't even go into a tapas bar.
Therefore you have saved yourself so much time and money that may have been wasted in going ahead! (I know that the people you ask will probably not say that and may love it, but I was just trying to get the point across)
So basically, on these forums, people will say, "yeah, cool man, good idea" etc (including me)...but we're not your local customers and most probably won't be buying from you...You've got to get out there and speak to your local (actual) customers and get some feedback.
I hope they love it, you set it up and it becomes the No1 Tapas Bar in your area!
Hope my comments help...Have Fun!

Hmmmm, tapas in a catering trailer may be a hard service to sell, but simple cheaper dishes are always a winner for me, particulaly in city centres
