Starting publishing company HELPHELP

Hi everyone at startups,
I am self publishing a novel through my own new publishing company. I know I have to register as a sole trader, but I also work as a teacher, can anyone help me with what I have to do with reagrds tax, registration etc, because I won't actually be self employed the publishing house is just a side line.
The book will also be giving 50% of the profits to charity, does that affect the tax/registration process. I probably sound stupid but I haven't a clue where to start.
Many thnaks for your help.

Dear Harry
You will need to speak to an accountant and discuss the various issues you face.
I work for a firm of accountants based in Richmond, but work all over for our clients.
If you want to have a chat, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
Best Regards

Scott,
I'm not sure if you've seen my other post, but please could you give me a hand with some advice regarding closing a limited company that has not traded at all. And has had NO money through its books since incorporation... I know I need to complete thhe 652a form to send to companies house, is there anything else and do I need to do a return for corporation tax to revenue and customs even though our accounting period has not started at all...?
Please help!
Many Thanks

strictly speaking yes. Have you received a tax return for the company?
Either way, you will need to complete a dormant tax return.
You will need to send the tax return with a covering letter saying that the comapny is dormant and will continue to do so. You will notify companies house if the position changes.
Ask them to close the file for this company.
That should do the trick.
