I have long felt that the pet sitting industry should be regulated. Currently anyone can set up as a pet sitter, without experience, public liability, registration or a CRB check.

Our business was formed in 1998 with all the credentials that we could offer, including all of the above.

Expansion has been rapid, hence our decision to franchise. I want everyone Franchisee that carries our logo, to have the best possible training we can offer, so we are having a pet sitting course especially written which will include, first aid training for companion animals, handling and basic behaviour. We are also in discussions to have each franchisee to have a weeks experience in both a veterinary environment and rescue centre.

Our technical manual has just been finished and I am currently working on our office manual. We are also providing all the contracts, letterheads, compliment slips & flyer's. Have agreed a great rate with a company who can provide a van, kitted out with 3 crates, water bowls etc and much more.

It is quite literally 'petsitting in a box', however we are still unsure what to charge for our pilot franchises and would appreciate your thoughts.
