Hi
Can anybody recommend an insurance broker that can offer office contents insurance at reasonable rates? Who are you using?
I have employers liability and professional indemnity insurance provided already, it was £200 a year for me and one employee, but have just moved out of my home office into a small office in a business centre. They insure the building, so its just a bit of contents insurance mainly for the computers etc. that I need, in case of a break in.
Quotes I've had so far tend to be for combined policies that include public liability and lots of other stuff I don't need. They are coming out at £368, nearly double what my house insurance costs for a tiny fraction of the cover in terms of contents.
I would consider a combined policy if the cost was low enough, but won't get anything back from my current employers liability and professional indemnity insurer if I cancel early.
Who do you use and is £368 too much?
Jonathan

It seems strange that if you are using a broker that they cannot find you exactly what you need? The advantage of using a broker over going direct to an insurance company is usually that they can advise on specific requirements like yours and provide you with suitable options.
We use UK commercial insurance brokers called Carvel Insurance Brokers http://www.carvel.uk.com who have always been on the ball with our occasional requests that have fallen outside of normal combined policies – they are almost always the best value when it comes to the price too.
