Hello
All Startups.co.uk forums will soon be updated as part of an overall redesign of the site, but we've decided to introduce a new rule to this forum now.
It has come to our attention that some users have been abusing the offers forum to continually repost offers and attach adverts - or, let's be honest, spam - to totally unrelated threads.
This isn't in the spirit of the forum which serves as a place for like-minded start-up and small business owners to exchange services.
From now on, please only post offers ONCE A MONTH.
Any users posting more frequently or deemed to be abusing the forum will have their posts removed and memberships deactivated.
I'm sure all sensible and credible users will agree this should be conducive to the forum going forward.
Thank you for your patience.
Kind regards,
Matt Thomas

Please note that this forum is entitled "Offers" and is supposedly for offers to Startups readers from other forum members. Blatant ads that don't contain any offers at all will be deleted as will long rambling posts full of keyword linking that are designed to appeal to search engines and not forum readers will also feel the force of the delete button

Hello,
I recently created a thread in the Offers Forum and when I came back to check on it I found it had been deleted. I was wondering why it was deleted. This was my first offer post so I wasn't spamming. It wasn't a blatant ad that didn't contain any offers at all, nor a long rambling post full of keyword linking. So as far as I know from reading the rules, it was within the rules.
Thanks for any information

Unfortunately the forum software lacks any sophistication so the mods are unable to do anything other than move or delete.
I can only assume that one of the mods must have thought that your post didn't contain anything special for startup members so deleted it.
Why not repost it and we'll see

I see that you have reposted the ad and I must say that I don't see how it could be classified as an "Offer for Startups members" as there is nothing in it specific to the membership or indeed a special offer.
That coupled with the fact that your only post in this community is self serving means that it's likely to be deleted again.
Sorry

Thank you for your reply.
I have slightly revised the post to make it clearer that it is a special offer to startup members. I hope this resolves the matter so we can continue to provide this service to startup members and readers.
Also there are quite a few threads in this section that have been up for months by people with only one post.
