Is it just me or have the number of postings dropped since start-ups launched this new format? Personally i don't like it as it was so easy to look through various topics when they were all the the one section, and offer advice on different subjects. Having to wade through all these new sections really isn't as convenient, and has made start-ups just like any other forum out there!
Let me know what everyone else thinks

I tend to agree Graeme, given it takes ages for the advertising to load it makes having a "quick look" at the posts becomes a bit of a pain.
I have corresponded with Oliver on this matter and the plan is to try it like this for a while and monitor the situation, so I guess we will see what the outcome is in a couple of weeks.

Totally agree.
I only look and only post in the general section - looking through all the different sections just takes too long. Got enough to do without clicking into loads of different sections - don't mind going into the one section and simply scrolling down the page to see all the posts on various subjects. Having just one section made startups a better forum for me when compared to others.

i thought it was just me. i prefer the old forum than having to look at different sections. So i am now looking more at shell and it seems they are not updating their articles too

Have to agree with the above members. It was much easier having all postings in one section. Clicking through all the different forums will take an age (for those with the patience to do so).

I quite like the new format as I don't have to spend time looking at posts in forums where I can't add anything constructive to the thread.
What I do have a problem with is the slow loading time overall so I don't spend as much time here as I used to as I hate waiting for pages to load

I have to agree with the majority of members. I only joined a week or so ago but liked it instantly because its so easy to use and look around. I can't be doing with these different sections, it just puts me off visiting them, and subsequently stops me posting on them.

I agree absolutely with you Graeme. I suspect that the General forum will become as the old forum used to be and the others will wither away naturally.
One of the good points about having all the messages in one section was that you'd more often than not stumble on something interesting that you wouldn't have spotted if you only had time to visit the insurance forum because that's the field you're in.
Best wishes

I am also a new member who is frustrated at the slow speed of the site. I like to use forums that have a "view unread posts" function. This keeps you up to date with everything being discussed on the forums.
Admin, Is this likely to change in the near future?

Hi Mike and everyone,
we are 'monitoring the situation' as people say - we have had both good and bad feedback about the changes. It's worth giving the new format a chance, but at the same time it's pointless to have a format that is unpopular. Please email me your comments at oliverm@crimsonpublishing.co.uk
As for the speed issue, that is being resolved via a reduction in the number of buttons.
Best regards,
Oliver
