Hi there,
I would suggest using PayPal - especially as a startup - the Blackhats (online thieves) are getting so good that you may be better off with Paypal especially in early days AND nearly everyone knows them as "safe".
http://paypal.com
AND it is a simple operation to setup.
Cheers - and don't be nervous - just careful!

Hi,
First, approach your business bank (whoever you currently have a business account with). Request that they provide you with a merchant account for online payments. If they will do this, that's the hard bit done. You can then use any one of a number of payment gateways (protx.com are one of my favourites) to interface with your merchant account.
