Why specifically Devon?
I have moved away because of a serious lack of anything at the moment

Why - because I already have an existing lifestyle business here and can you honestly tell me anywhere that is better to live and work ?

It depends on what type of Devon you're talking about. I have just moved from Torquay and it got to the point of me hating it.

What about a company that you could work with remotely?
i.e. a national company.

Hi James,
I am looking for a business partner as I'm in the process of setting up a mobile marketing agency, and I'm beginning to realise I can't do it all alone! I'm currently in Dorset but looking to relocate to somewhere around Exeter.
Have a look at my website www.nsbmobilemedia.com to see if it's the sort of thing that may be of interest to you.
You can reach me on nigel@nsbmobilemedia.com or 01202 637595
All the best,
Nigel

Hi James
mrkidd85 is not 'kidding' you!
I lived in Devon as a child and returned again recently - only to find many years later that it has changed beyond all recognition.
I had many ideas myself to work with the hotel and leisure industry as I thought that would be an excellent place to use my knowledge and experience in advertising and marketing - because so many people choose to holiday abroad - but I found they were very apathetic and negative, no matter how hard I tried. I suppose I was used to the community spirit and relaxed positive, friendly attitudes that used to be the Devon I affectionately remember.
It's the reason why I chose to work through the Internet - rather than struggle on convincing people to create a better business for themselves.
If I were in your place, I would not ignore what people are saying about Devon - as I'm very much a believer in testing and researching what you do before embarking on a major project.
I hope you don't find this advice intrusive, as it's simply well meant. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hi James,
IT is a lucrative/ever growing sector and should be a top choice for investment purposes. You can start a small/medium outsourcing company with huge ROI potential. Try networking with more experts through business / investor communities.

Hi,
However, we're not in Devon, this might interest you.
We're young Scottish start-up offering professional photo digitisation and restoration services. We were taking part in the elite entrepreneurship EPIS program run by the University of Edinburgh.
Our vision and business model is based on American most successful industry leader - ScanCafe.
We're distinguishing ourselves on this fast developing market, by providing high quality, manually corrected images from papers, films, slides etc. Unlike our competition, we don't use automated scanners and software that can quickly digitise large amount of photos compromising the quality but we manually scan and correct each image.
We're also allowing our customers to view their scans before payment and discard up to 50% of all scans.
We're experiencing steady growth, however we need to boost our marketing efforts to be more visible. Thus, we're looking for a professional with Internet marketing experience and/or an investor who could help us increase our business.
This is a great business opportunity on the young, fast growing market of photo digitalisation.
If you're interested to work with us, please let me know and we can have a chat.
Thanks,
Bartek Kubiczek

Hi James
I'm currently trying to set up a business. I have found suitable premises in Brixham. The business which is currently there is doing OK, but I have a lot of ideas for making it much more successful. I have the necessary cash to purchase the existing business (albeit in euros). What I don't have is retail experience and as I'm currently in Germany, the logistics for setting this up are proving difficult. I'm currently waiting for the estate agents to provide me with figures for the business, but at the moment in vain.If you have experience of retail and knowledge of setting up a business, you may be a useful ally in my battle to get this business off the ground. Look forward to hearing from you if you aren't already fixed up,
All the best
Sheffielder

Hi James,
I'm looking for an Investor or a loan of £80k for lease on a Pub/Restaurant in Devon.
Unfortunately I have no money to put in.
The pub last year turned over £415,792 (ex VAT) but the Pub/Restaurant has not been maximised to its true potential.
My husband and I would like to run this together, for the last few years we have run a computer software company (which we can still do along side this), so we know that we can work well together and we are prepared for the long hours and hard work.
My intention is to do make more of the function side (which it's not doing now) like Wedding Receptions, Birthday Party’s, School and University Balls and Theme Nights.
I have been fundraising events co-ordinator for a local charity on a volunteer basis and would like to do this full time for myself. I have wanted to do this for a long time and as our daughter is now 17 and at college, I feel this is the right time.
The Pub/Restaurant already has
A Chef
Experienced Bar Manager
Part Time Staff
Kichen Staff
My Husband will be the Office Manager - paperwork and procedures
and I will be Front of House and Functions Manager
I have always wanted a chain of Pub/Restaurant and function venues and this will be the first of many.( I just need the backing, I have the focus and passion)
If you're interested, please email me or phone 01626 830455
Kind regards
Dianab

Hi James,
I run a small internet business from home in Devon selling gadgets. I want to expand into the 'gifts' market as there is a huge potential market share that I am missing out on.
please have a look at my website: www.gadgethunter.co.uk and I also have an eBay shop.
I am looking to re-brand to cater for a female gift-buying audience and to invest. I have found it difficult at times without a business partner, for instance when buying new products. I am looking for someone who is similar minded, very positive and willing to have a really good go at a business venture and create a successful, profitable business.
Please contact me at jamescarr101@hotmail.com or info@gadgethunter.co.uk
Many thanks,
James.
