I'm a Software Engineer too. As you, I always wanted to start a business and work on some of my own ideas; well, some time ago I decided to go for it and I am currently working just part time so I can spend as much time as possible working on my business. The first idea I'm developing is an online website, and it shouldn't take too much long before I finish it. I was actually looking for an investor so I could hire someone to help me out (just one developer is quite hard) and fund some marketing campaings once the app is finished. So you would be an ideal candidate, someone who can give the final touches to the product with me, and can also invest some money.

My app is being develop with MySql,Spring,Tiles,Tomcat... the usual; and it should probably be finished before the end of the year.

If everything goes well, I was expecting to fund some other ideas with the income generated from this business.

We are just in the process of getting a few people together there are some on board already. We are looking still for management but am talking with someone on that and are looking for programming / web developing and a few other roles inc researchers. As I say I have already got a few people willing to be on board as soon as they have known what it is.

I am trying to get a largish number of people all for equity so that it helps people find the time to spare )just a few hours a week - I only have a couple of hours per night and a bit at weekend as i am full time on my other venture) rather than burdening just two or three people with the pressure to put in a lot of time.

I reckon this could be launched by spring 2013 and at some point before expect interest such as mentioned earlier above
