Allot of bogs are moderated and do not allow automatic submissions. Most as well that have been spammed do not approve comments that have links in them at all.

Also, websites like webmaster forums do not allow signatures to have links in them until the user posts over 50 posts, and also you cannot even post on their forum until a mod is online to prevent spamming etc. Allot of forums are moving in this direction.
Having links not count until a certain post count is reached, is a cool idea and helps regulate the community so people are not so transient and stick around longer.

I think for a PR5 ( Page Rank ) , 50 comments is a fair price to pay. Keep in mind that SEO is a long term marketing strategy .

I think people would be willing to put up with spammers if they at least made an effort to say something tangible on a blog or forum. Sadly this isn't the case though, and all you're left with is a crappy "Nice post, that was really cool" kind of message. Infuriating

There will always be ways of spamming a forum, there must be ways to build a filter to blog spam.

Maintaining a dofollow list or search engine is serious work. Most lists are about 50% nofollow with about 10% changing from dof ollow to nofollow each month.
It will be really helpful for the newbies / SEO's to find dofollow forums in a list. Great work. Keep it up.

I agree with designempire in regards to Page Rank being worth it. Search Engine's are making everyone earn their rankings these days and I'm glad they do. Whether the blog is dofollow or nofollow, comment when you feel the urge and Google will take care of the rest.
