I work in the Architectural sector as a Consultant for a large company during the week and during the evenings and weekends I work for myself.
I became self employed around 24months ago working with a large Architect's firm. After 12months my accountant advised me to start my own Limited Company. I have now been running my own company for about 12 months and it seems to be going ok. Unfortunately I think my full time contract with the Architects firm is coming to an end and I don’t think my private work will cover my outgoings so I may need to look for another full time contract or find a permanent position.

What I need to know is if someone else employs me (on the books) can I still run my limited company/ still work for myself in the evenings/weekends?

If I can, what are the tax implications?

To be honest I don’t want to close the company because hopefully in the future I will have enough work so that I can work for myself full time.

Any help/ advice would be much appreciated.
