Leading train booking engine thetrainline.com has today launched a free-to-download directions widget for small businesses to add to their websites.
The tool has been designed as an add-on to the 'Contact us' page on small businesses websites, providing a map indicating directions from the nearest stations to the relevant business property.
In two clicks small businesses can download the Google-powered application by generating an embed code and then entering the company postcode into thetrainline.com's site. The code can then be transferred into the website html, making the map visible on the company site.
Iain Hildreth, director of marketing from thetrainline.com is confident that small to medium-sized business owners will find the new tool easy to access.
He said: “The ‘how to find us’ area of a website can be critical to a business and is often the last point in converting a browser to a potential customer.
“We created this widget with that sole reason in mind, so we’re confident it will help business websites. You don’t need to be a technical wizard to use it and, as the widget is completely free to use, we’re positive it will be a great success.”
