Hi,
I was watching the entrepenuer channel about how much money can be made in Internet marketing and other direct Marketing schemes.
People like Derek Gehl, Andrew reynolds, Tim Lowe, and Armand Morin. Are thet just get rich quick schemes or do these schemes really work?
Has anybody purchased any of these courses ?
Thanks.

Hey i also have watched all the stuff on there.
Derek Gehl's package i would say is not a get rich quick scheme or the canadian fella.
I actually had a long old chat the other day with one of Derek gehl's team regarding the advanced mentoring course he's now offering. As i didn't have the 10k needed to invest in that they were saying how successful the other course (internet Marketing Secrets) has been.
I'm usually pretty sceptical of all these so called systems but Dereks one doesn't look half bad.
Give it a go i'd say but i think all the info on the dvd's e.t.c can probably be found for free on the net.

I have seen majority of these schemes on the net. From what i know here is how it works:
Find out what information is in demand by using this keyword selector:
http://inventory.overture.com.
Type in the keyword for example Diet
If there are lots of hits it means there is a lot of demand for this topic.
Go down the list to select a more specfied topic related to diet eg diet plan.
Create a website with a domain name with relevant name eg diet-plan.co.uk - the dash is meant to be good because it will have more of a chance appearing in the top of list in the search results, when somebody searches for the actual words 'diet plan' .
Then search for free articles eg. (http://add-articles.com) on the net relating to your topic, get a whole list of them, write them in your own words in the form of an ebook, with links pointing to you website as a footer on each page.
Next, hunt down more information regarding this topic, if need be interview somebody who has been successfull in losing weight with this diet plan. Write it down in form of a course, with 12 monthly modules.
Create a sales page on your main website selling this course for say £9/month using paypal subscription and offering the ebook as a free download.
Now the interesting part called viral marketing or traffic virus:
Post the ebook free on ebook websites.
Go to ebay advertise your ebook for 0.01p
Submit free articles on websites with the link to your website where they can download your ebook.
Got ot Diet forums- discuss your ideas with your weblink at the bottom of each topic
use google adsense
Go to diet websites which have many vistors say 10,000 a day and do a deal with them by offering your ebook free on their website, this will drive traffic to your website where people can purchase your course.
Keep repeating this process until you make a tidy income.
This is just the basics but there is probably more to it then that eg simple search engine techniques you can use that will increase your ranking.
I believe lots of people are already trying to this.
This is the theory but practically I know no one who has succeeded in doing apart from the people trying to sell this idea.

I agree with Feelgoodred and also it is the seminars on how to do it that make them the money.
Unlike feelgoodred I do know someone who has been there and done it and they worked their socks off and in the end made more money than they would normally make in about 3 or 4 years in their normal job, but I know she won't do it again she said the toil on normal life was too much (maybe she did it wrong)
Good luck though to anyone who wants to do it...

You are right in saying there are lots of people out there attempting these types of information selling and software and in some levels your outline into how it works is correct.
In my experience these guys all have similar actions plans that have worked for them. The difference between choosing one of these guys to help you (through their courses and DVDs) and doing it alone is the learning curve.
If you go it alone you will have to teach yourself a hell of a lot -
- copywriting
- web site design
- how to find a target market
- how to biuld trust and believability
- marketing your website online
- marketing your website offline
You will also have to figure out who you can trust in terms of learning from on the Internet as there is alot of misinformatin out there, what tools are the best to use etc etc etc.
The thing that almost every business should be focusing on but is always forgotten until after the product launch is who is the target market, what do they want, and how to marketing your business. You will never make any money if no one knows about your website or business. And it won't make a difference if you send 10,000 people to your site either if they are not targeted.
These courses are intended to make the learning curve a lot shorter. Instead of struggling through 10 years of figuring out these things these guys pack it all into one course and normally guarantee results within a year or so.
I think the real reason you never hear of anyone actually making money from these guys is because it takes alot of effort to start with. Learning all their stuff and actually taking action. How many of us have bought a book or a course, you read the first chapter, think it sonuds great and you tell yourself you'll do the first exercise tommorrow and it never happens.
Launching a new business is hard and it does take alot of time and effort and no income until you have figured it out. It is actually the hardest part of running a successful business - starting up and getting your first sales.
I hope this sheds some light on an area that many people are confused about.
Best Wishes
J
