This venture sounds like something I have explored in the past, as a possible expansion route for one of my earlier businesses, though I exited that business before going down that route. I still maintain this presents a good opportunity, as home services are very disparate. The only format people are used to for identifying home services is yellow pages/Yell etc. So a one-stop-shop could well do very well, with the right infrastructrure.

It's a pretty good idea. But your main challenge there is how you can make sure that the quality will be good across the board. I mean, it will be hard to control the quality if you're going to outsource it to local businesses.

But come to think of it, there are websites that does that for flowers. So I guess it can be done. Just make sure that you only deal with respectable businesses.
