Ok i have to say i find the site design to be very old fashioned, the colours, layout and structure is very bland. As soon as i land on your page i just want to leave.

It isn't inviting, and it doesn't grab my attention, also the ads are distracting, there is no problem with having adverts on your site if that is what you want but you need a well structured site so that they do not interfere with your content.

I can see why anyone who is not interested in the subject matter may respond in the way that Tony has. The site does need a little more css. Ideally links should change slightly when the user hovers over them, say a slight color change or a border appearing. Only the mouse cursor changes on yours.

The navigation menu could be a little more interesting too. I can see that you have made the home page become the navigation menu by spreading the major headings and categories accross the whole home page. This is an innovative idea and I like the way you have thought outside of the box to acheive that. However, it invites the response above. If I was going to try for that effect I may give more consideriation to it being one thing or the other.

To explain - If the whole home page is the navigation menu I may abandon the menu that is currently accross the top. Alternatively I would consider making the menu that is accross the top into a pop-up menu with all of the headings and sub categories that are currently spread accross the home page into the pop-ups and use the content of the home page to link off to my best content.

Another aspect that I would consider is the size of the home page. Try looking at it on different types of screens in different resolutions. On my screen the visible part of your home page is just less than half of the whole thing. I have to scroll down by as much as I can see and then some to get to the bottom. Normally a web site home screen would be a welcome mat for visitors which clarifies the nature and purpose of the web site to the user and offers an intuitive path around the content (Ie a very easy to use and understand navigation menu). As it is it could be seen by some as information overload and again cause the user to leave prematurely.

Still on the home page - I don't object to seeing advertising on any web site, but I would never consider putting it on a home page. The ads that I saw were again very relevant to your content. I didn't distinguish it immediately and was therefore prone to click on it thus leaving your site for someone else's. Bearing in mind the purpose of the home page, putting ads on it is you shooting yourself in the foot.

When I clicked on Fashion & Jewelery I got a 'no such page' error.
