The Franchise Group, a leading franchising consultant, has appointed a marketing and business specialist as its new group marketing manager, it announced today.

Chris Barker as has over 10 year’s management and marketing experience, including as trading manager for BCT Travel Group (Cresta Holidays), a subdivision of MyTravel plc. He also previously worked as reader holidays manager with the Irish News in Belfast.

In his role at Cresta Holidays, Barker implemented a number of promotional, product and pricing strategies across its various brands and helped to turn the Cresta brand into a market leader. He was also responsible for the re-launch of an online, accommodation-only brand, www.hotelstogo.co.uk.
