forming a limited company

hi there!
i set up a limited company a couple of days ago but now seem to be stuck in the process. everything at companies house is sorted, so i referred back to the businesslink website to find out what to do next. they say: contact HMRC (http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/detail?r.l1=1073858805&r.l3=1073865436&type=RESOURCES&itemId=1073789621&r.l2=1073859131&r.s=sc) which ive been trying to do for days. but no one seems to know what i am talking about.
anyone who has already set up a limited company: can you please tell me what i need to do? i really dont want to be fined because i forgot to make a call.

If everything is sorted at companies house then that is it with regards setting up.
Not sure what you are trying to do next which is causing you the problem. Have you registered with Inland Revenue ?

no, thats exactly what i mean. i keep calling IR but they just keep giving me new numbers. can you tell me how (and where) to do that?
btw, HMRC sent me a form from the tax inspector to fill in. is that it?

If you are unsure about specifics they are more than happy for you to visit them in person. Find your local tax office and call in to see them.

thanks a lot for the info so far!
this may sound a tad stupid (im european and still getting used to the system, if that explains things) but how do i find out what my local office is? i tried to find out on the HMRC website but when i look up my postcode i get a couple of results. does that mean i can chose one? the one that is technically closest is a bit off the track for me though.

Call into any of them. If they do need to see any of your records they should be computerised and should be able to pull them up at any office.

Weird, I thought Business Link was good for advice like that???
