RE: Finding a business partner

I've had a similar problem as I am in full time employment and not yet ready to give up my day job. I have had 3 ideas so far and two of them have been turned into businesses by other people who have been able to dedicate their time to it.
I am trying to use a call answering service for the current one but it still doesn't work. I have offered people a 50% share of the company and a commission only deal but it still doesn't work, yet I get at least two emails a day from punters asking where can they sign up?
Very, very frustrating.

Hi Mojo,
It might be a little bit difficult these days to sort out issues like yours. I have faced similar problems.
Would it be possible for you to get in touch with me at ron20_99 at yahoo dot com ? We can start from there and see if ideas match ?

Hi Mojo24
I faced similar problems, but luckily managed to find a good web developer in the end... Drop me an email to aquamarina at wildmail dot com, and if you know tell me the dates you're looking your website up and running for (if you have any date in mind) that would tell my developer if he has time to fit you in, and also, have you got an estimate of how long this developemnt would take (maybe developers you already contacted told you?)... And if you don't want to give out your idea, thats fine, if you can, can you list major items that this developemnt work involves (will there be checkout? do you require paypal/nochex or other integration? would it be dynamic site rather than static? meaning you need to have databases at the back of it? would you require SSL? are you looking for web developer to do design as well (usually design is performed by someone else, but my web developer did it for me too!)....
I will send you a website that was created for me for you to have a look.
Regards,
aquamarina

Hello to everyone who has offered their services since.
I have now found a business partner - who lives all of 3 miles away - I'm really pleased.
Tip to myself - sign up to emailing lists and just keep your eyes open
My new partner came to me, not me to him
Excellent, and thanks again to all!

HI Mojo24
I am in a very similar situation.
Do you mind telling me how you managed to find and convince your business partner to join in without telling too much about the business ?
RE: Finding a business partner
Mojo24 | 20/08/2008 09:01 PM
I didn't! I had to tell him everything and hope he was trustworthy. He seemed ok, and most people are honest on the whole. So far so good. I had to tell him the full details so he knew my site would work, and was able to generate the revenue before he would commit. I don't blame him really, I would want to know the same. But he seems up for it, and believes in it, so great.
Unfortunatley as I'm not in a position to pay him to do it, I didn't really have much choice over the matter, so I deemed it better to risk it.
Good luck.

Hello,
I am on the other side of the mirror. I am a web developer with few ideas to develop and finding right web designer (designer with initiative) looks impossible.
PS: if there is a web designer who wants to join me, just send me an email

Hi all,
I had success through a networking site; zoomspec dot com. I was looking for an animator for a project i had. I found a brilliant talent on there who produced some incredible work. The site members are from all walks of life, in business or seeking work. They upload portfolios so you can see what they have done or are capable of - realy good. Check out Robart_J if you are looking for anything creative from photographic work through to aninaltion, graphics, film editing etc. His name is robert jury - exceptionally talented. There are also lots of other people on the site with other skills a small business needs (I also needed someone to manage my database and analyse it) great site, so hope it's useful to others as was for me.

Mojo...
If you have't sorted this out already, why not do what i did... run a google search for a web designer... i found a fella called matt blaine in ireland who works for 25 pounds an hour.
Lots of web designers have lovely offices which incur overheads... so rather than go with someone who starts out claiming they can build you up for 150 quid and present you with a final bill for nearly 300 quid (which has happened to me in the past), safe in the knowledge that if you don't pay they pull your website!!! go find someone like a media post grad who will work by the hour.
One of my websites was put online for just 25 quid.
To an extent, it looks like 25 quids worth of website, as its only a basic, one page, text jobby... http://www.ineed40k.co.uk/ but it is a website, it does its job, and i got what i paid for... one hours worth of work.
Any decent web designer can put up a basic website in under one hour, so why pay their wages for the whole day?
So many kids leave uni and college every year and so little jobs are out there

Please send me you email address
You say that your line of business falls under partnering up with small ventures with high growth potentials, I am also an entrepenour, with many ideas that I plan to execute very soon, but I have also been struggling to find a business partner, but my problem doesn't purely lie in a web designer, its also in finding the best places to network and create a handy contact list, if you are interested in taliking further, as I said earlier post your email and I will be sure to contact you.

I am looking for a business partner for a business project involving an online/virtual market place and aimed at covering one of the biggest single commercial regions in the world. I have had experience with this market region in the past and I strongly believe in the awesome potentials of setting up this virtual market place in the long run.
The ideal partner would be someone/interest who has experience in web design and development, internet marketing, as well as being willing to invest finance, time and expertise. The initial capital required for this project is minimal and operational costs can be capped within the first 6-8 months of the business being active. The business model applies to an area of business that is relatively untapped.
Please mail any interests or considerations to lanyanwu@unexinteco.com.
Kind regards!

Hi there,
I'm looking to work with an experienced Nottingham based .NET developer to help develop a B2B subscription based website community / web application. The project will be ongoing as the service will need to evolve over time, therefore I am ideally looking for a suitable business partner who has the necessary developer experience to launch this new service.
I hope you appreciate my hesitation at giving a full outline of what this project entails, however please feel free to contact me directly if you live in Nottingham and have the experience and skill set required for this opportunity and are available to work in return for equity in a new scalable business.
Many thanks!

My name is Dean Shah and I was made redundant from Authorhouse UK Ltd in Sept 09 - a subsidiary of Author Solutions - which owns several large Book Publishers (print on demand publishers) Xlibris, I Universe, Trafford, Authorhouse and more. These companies make up the largest publishers in the world - Authorhouse alone has over 50,000 titles.
In the 5 years I worked in a senior role I was involved in the successful publishing of over 500 titles and provided valuable marketing assistance for many of these. Over the years I have built up a wealth of experience, skills and contacts to reproduce this on a smaller scale but still substantially profitable for a small to medium size business.
I have never started or ran a business and a venture like this albeit quite low risk/investment is still a little scary for me alone. Hence why I’m looking for someone to join me financially and for support, encouragement and shared inspiration.
I will be happy to discuss this on an informal basis to those who are serious, I welcome enquiries from those with technical/website background or good contacts in these areas, what will be more important is that we can get on so a good personality should help! Financial investment will range from around £2,500 to £5,000 but dependant on a number of factors.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone to make use of my skills and know how, I will be hands on and the prospective partner/investor can be active or silent and does not have to be close to my current location (Milton Keynes) but would help for meetings and so on.
Please email me on dds9@hotmail.com with brief details of your background/age/location and telephone number and we can arrange to discuss further.
Thank you for reading this post.
Kind Regards
