Fashion advice and personal shopping services
Tell us what your business does:
We are a new London based company run
by mother and daughter providing fashion advice and personal shopping services.
We recognise how important it is to buy only essential items and get it right
the first time especially in the current economic climate.
Where did the idea for your business come from?
The company is for people who are short
of time or are daunted by the choice of clothes on the high street.
Practicality and good value for money are the main principles of the advice
given although style is very important too.
How did you know there was a market for it?
The choice available on the high street
these days is great but can be overwhelming so we wanted to pinpoint the
essential items and save our clients money in the process. We have been
shopping like this for years and wanted to share our approach.
What were you doing before starting up?
We are both still working while the
business grows. I work as a part-time teacher.
Have you always wanted to run your own business?
No, but the idea is growing on us.
How did you raise the money?
So far, we have only used our personal
savings to fund the business.
What challenges have you faced and how have you overcome
them?
Our challenge is to get more people to
learn about our company. We are trying to overcome this with targeted
advertising and PR.
How much do you charge?
We charge a personal shopping rate of
£50 per hour, with a minimum duration of two hours.
What was your first big breakthrough?
Reaching and beating the 2,500 visits
mark on our website.
What advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?
If you have an idea and you are
passionate about it, you should give it a try.
Where do you want to be in five years' time?
I would like to say running my own
company with millions in turnover but it is probably too early to say for now
if that will happen or not.
