I have been flirting with the idea of importing goods from China to resell in UK/online for a little while and feel relatively comfortable with the 'idea' of doing so now.

I had initially intended on importing electronics goods (Tablets/Mobile Phones etc) but such items are high risk in terms of quality assurance and seeing as this particular venture would be an "out of work" activity (I work for a software vendor-and hours can be long) I will not have the time to deal with an influx of returned items etc etc.

I understand the need to source labour intensive products as that is where I will make my margin, but am struggling to think of a viable product for sale in UK. As such, I would greatly appreciate the advice of someone that has sourced a product and brought it over to UK, from China ideally. Would be invaluable to know what your processes were, what types of items you have successfully made a return on and how much time you had to dedicate to a successful project. Ultimately, I would like to know if it is in fact viable for me to do this whilst working a job that demands the hours.

Ideally I want to be starting with a £5k investment to test the water though would consider more if necessary.
