You are going to have the same issue as any new web business - why should anyone buy from you? Unless you have a unique selling point (exclusive access to a particular range, chepaest price etc etc) this is a hard sell. I would approach this from a completely different angle....hear me out.

Why not create a jewelery blog and build up content and credibility, once people trust you they will buy from you (consider why powersellers do so well on eBay, their ratings give them an element of trust).

Nicely designed site. Im an Internet Marketer and give advice on content and rewrite content for a living, here's what I would say if you were a client:

You need a Contact Us Page with a physical address on. Working from home? Use a virtual office address. People HAVE to trust you.
Put your phone number at the top of EVERY page. Ideally get an 0800 phone number to appear larger.
Do a few test purchases with friends - what would make them stop, are there any issues with the checkout process?
Try collecting email addresses by offering to give out discount codes via Google Checkout. You can then email them regularly with offers and new product ranges
How will you promote the site, AdWords, Search Engine Optimisation or both? SEO will be hugely competitive in this area - I know I've been an affiliate for a jewellary company in the past!
