Hi guys, bit new to this site but finding it very helpfull. I am thinking of starting up a home improvement business, just part time at first as i have a full time job but keen to see how it goes. was going to use my name or initials but my road name where i live is Adwell. Am i allowed to use this as a business name ?, just thinking about the A prefix for listings etc....
Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

WAOW...thats something i have never heard of before and i have to say, in my humble opinion, that's actually a really good idea. For the obvious reason of choosing a name that begins with an "A", good for directories, it would also add significant weight to those who search for businesses in their area in SEO terms.
You already know the benefits of appearing first in the line, however this would also be good for individuals searching for businesses in your locale. What would be a big factor is where exactly Adwell is, what the population is and how many people would be searching for that term in your area. The idea is really good, however the success of it would depend on the previous factors. It's given me an idea anyway and i'd say it's a potential winner, depending on the population and number of searches.
But to answer your direct question, yes, you would be allowed to use a road name as your business, there is no problem with that.
