Business Idea, But I need to check the legal side
drumsdrumsdrums started this topic @ 13:44 on 01/02/2012
I have what I think could be a very profitable idea and possibly a product that will be easy to licence out to larger manufacturers.
I'm looking for some legal advice on this matter which will help me see if the product is worth while.
Can anyone recommend who I could speak to regarding this?

Hi Drums,
It's difficult to see where your legal query is here.
To see if the product is worthwhile would usually depend on comprehensive research, e.g. competition, financial value e.t.c
Legalities would usually come into play if your selling something restrictive. An easy example would be alcohol.
If you're wondering about the issue of intrusion etc do remember that it's perfectly acceptable to research competitors. (Obviously you have to draw the line at breaking into offices and sifting through filing cabinets!!
)
Can you give us a rough idea of what sector your idea falls in to?
If you want to discuss this further and gain more direct advice then I'm more than happy to talk to you under a Non-Disclosure Agreement. Drop me a line at DaveAdamsonNR@GMail.com
Regards,
Dave

If you become a member of the Federatiion of Small Businesses (FSB) you can get free legal advice. I know it costs a bit to register and this put me off for ages, it's a thought though and would probably cost less than going to a lawyer, plus you have the other benefits of membership.

You also get a lot of other perks by becoming a member of FSB.
