Like anything, you're doing yourself a favour by looking a the market and shopping around. Using your existing bank is a good idea as you already have a relationship with them and I assume you prefer to bank with them.
On the other hand, a different bank might offer you better finance and better service - which due to the competitive nature of banking today, seems to be a differentiator between certain banks right now.

Definitely a different bank. 'Don't keep all your eggs in the one basket' etc.

Yes, that's in line with my gut feeling.
Does anyone know a bit mor about the legal side of this. Can banks access your personal account if your business is in trouble (without taking previous legal action), just based on their T&C?

If your business and private accounts are with the same bank they can offset amounts between the two accounts but if one is for a limited company they cannot offset without your prior permission as they are two different legal entities.
If your accounts are with two different banks they cannot offset at all
