Hi,
Would anyone care to recommend as business bank account for a new start up. I quite like the look of free banking from the Abbey business account - the down side of this account as far as I can tell is that it pays terrible interest rates on positive balences. I hadn't planed on leaving much money in the account though so that isn't so much of an issue. A friend recommended Cater Allen but I've no idea how good they are.
Thanks for any advice
Graham

Thanks for the advice. I was just having a look at the reivews on http://www.reviewcentre.com and I'm quite frankly shocked at some of stories. It would seem that all the banks treat their business customers like they are doing them a favour. I've got the joys of trying to get an internet merchant number to looks forward to yet as well. Sigh.
I forgot to mention that I am looking for just a simple current account at the minute to get me started. I'm trading online so cash and cheque deposits should be minimal.
Thanks again.

I have been looking for a business account and came across HSBC business banking section. All the essential business bank account services a smaller business needs, without a fee or the effort of going to the bank.
And in their Business current account, Suitable for businesses who require traditional banking services such as issuing cheques and using cash, but who want the flexibility of branch, internet and telephone banking. 18 months free business banking is for accounts with an annual turnover below £500,000.
Thanks.
