Branding Idea for Male Grooming Ecommerce Site

I'm currently at the market research/planning stages of launching a new online shop specializing, initially, in men's grooming products, toiletries
and essential wear.
While I face competition in the UK from established retail sites, the branding idea for my site is quite unique, but my concern is that it will be too complex as a website and therefore may discourage users from spending more time on the site.
I'm not going to reveal the name yet, and I dont really want to give too much away as you never know who might try and pinch your idea, but from a navigational point of view, the homepage will contain links to product sections/interactive sections which will actually be different rooms
I wont tell you any more than that, as I would very much like your feedback on what you understand each 'room' name would contain:
The Wash Room
The Locker Room
The Show Room
The Dressing Room
The Viewing Room
The Reading Room
Many Thanks

What's the demand for these sorts of products, generally?
Would men order them from the internet?
Is anyone already selling these online and can you figure out how well they're doing?

Hi Jordy Boy,
Good for you on your great idea. As your idea has yet to be tried and tested, it might be wise to get a few opinions from your target demographic. The industry term for this is usability testing.
This test can be done cheaply by creating a visual mockup of your concept. This will be used to test your idea and we'll get a feel if the following elements appeal to your customers.
a) Graphic and aesthetics - which determines branding and sets the buying mood of your target customers
b) The overall feel and experience - We can find out if the complexity of your idea puts people off and if yes what elements of the idea / website we can improve on.
You can then decide to go ahead, change or tweak your idea based on such feedback. If the overall concept works, then you can proceed with confidence in building all the interactive elements. A second round testing might be useful to assess whether the heavy interaction/animation to create the unique branding experience is a trade off for pounds in the checkout process.
The findings of these tests will also be useful when approaching retailers or investors.
If you'd like more suggestions or just a chat about your idea, don't hesitate to drop me a mail through our website. You can have sign an NDA if is necessary.
Back to your question, here's what I think of your room concept:
The Wash Room - toiletries and body washing, everyday products
The Locker Room - Sports products
The Show Room - Products to look good, luxury, night outs
The Dressing Room - To impress her
The Viewing Room - Not too sure
The Reading Room - Not sure either
My gut feeling is - without knowing too much in detail, that the idea can be simplified. As a male in my late 20's , I would relate to the first 4 categories. Anything else would not appeal to me. But of course I'm just one type of demographic and you'd need to get opinions of other males as well.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Vincent
