Hi SmokyJoe
Greeting cards market is v competitive and, if you check out franchise re-sale websites, there's lots of them for sale, particularly the Original Poster Company and Card Connection. Having been a publisher in this industry for 4 years, my recommendation would be to check carefully before you dive in. If it were my money, I'd be looknig elsewhere!

Hi,
I'm, not an expert in this field but from what we've seen happening recently with Clinton Cards and other big card companies, things don't look to positive at the moment. This could be due to people not buying many cards and using more online services instead.

Hi. I currently own and operate a Greetings Card company in the North of England covering the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Myself and Wife are photographers and over the last two years have produced our own range of cards and gift related items. Whilst agreeing with some of the above, we are finding the market superb, we are gaining new accounts each day and these accounts are growing month by month with the order volumes. We are taking business from some very well known card suppliers and getting accounts with such companies as Hallmark. We find that each and every new account we take on tell us that we won the business due to our upto date card selections, that are new, lively and very much upto date. We see all the big names in the industry and we notice their cards and other gift related items are old, tired and often taken from photogrpahs from years ago. They are also very greedy with massive minimum orders and have a very poor back up service as regards re-stocking and bringing out new designs. We are at the stage that we now want to expand to new areas and to increase our company. If you are looking to go into the greetings card industry, look for a new, up to date company offering exciting desings and are willing to work with the retailer, unlike these big boys in the game. Good Luck
