Winners of the hit BBC show The Apprentice seem to be making a habit of parting ways with Amstrad boss Alan Sugar.

Series two victor Michelle Dewberry quit merely a few months after pipping runner up Ruth Badger to the post. Now Tim Campbell, winner of the first series, has announced he too is striding out on his own.

Campbell has ditched his annual £100,000 salary at Amstrad in favour of setting up his own company. The reality TV star is now reportedly in cahoots with former Blair aid Alistair Campbell after the pair met while filming for this year’s Comic Relief.

He is reportedly working on plans for his own male grooming business as well as the Bright Ideas Trust, a charitable project to help budding entrepreneurs.

However, despite both Apprentice winners quitting their roles working under Sugar, neither regard the parting of ways as anything less than amicable.

Campbell told the BBC that the Amstrad boss has been ‘inspirational’ and had built his self- confidence.

Dewberry also praised Sugar. “I really look up to Alan,” she told Startups. “The whole experience of being on the show was a great bonus for me to set up on my own.

“It also gave me the coverage to enable me to do charitable projects, motivate others and just have some fun.”
