We are a start up web business in its embryonic phase. Right now we are having a hard time finding a web developer with the skills we need and who is interested in taking on this project on an equity share. There are a lot of web developers of massively different ability and finding the right one is proving tricky. I am hoping there might be a few people on here who could pass on some contacts or point me in the right direction for finding a potential business partner.

So a few details about the product:

The product is a strong one, which will operate in a niche high value scientific market. Currently we have a team of two, one developer to deal with the scientific aspects of the back end and me, its my idea and I will run the business side of things. We are looking for a Web developer / designer skilled in the use of LAMP to take care of the web design, user data tracking and developing the websites commerce interface.

The people I have approached have not really covered all the skills I have outlined or I was not sure they could pull off the project to the standard we require.

There must be a raft of people out there who have been through this process. If you have any advice I will gladly listen.
