Any advice please

Hi,
I have been thinking about setting up my own website based business for a while now. I make cupcakes and other cakes mainly for family members and as a hobby, I have a qualification in cake decorating and I do really enjoy it.
I am thinking about setting up a business to sell cupcakes and other cakes for weddings, childrens parties and other occassions. I could also supply local businesses/offices. I would be making these from home on a part time basis to begin with.
How would I go about doing this? Can I bake from home? Would the kitchen need inspecting? Do I need to set up a business bank account? As you can probably tell I have little knowledge of how to set this up but I believe my ideas and enthusiasm are second to none. I have ideas on how to market the prducts but its the set up and legal bits I am mainly unsure of.
If this took off I would love to open my own business prems.... Its something ive always been interested in doing.
Any ideas in relation to starting online and the steps I would have to take?
Thanks, Helen.

Hi,
I will try to help as much as I can.
nothing stops you from baking from home, I would say that you would need a kitchen inspecation but don't quote me on that as you would need to check (to comply with your insurance and health and safety).
I think it is more professional to setup a company and a business account it shows that you are, serious about your business and adds a whole level of professionalism to your business..
You can create a website and it might be an excellent idea, and if we discussed we could go through different ideas of how this is done.
And if that is your goal and the business is worked right then there is no reason why you should not have your own premises and maybe be the next cake boss
if you want to discuss your ideas I am more than happy to chat and support you.
Please email me on daniel.ellis@dteweb.co.uk
And we can see what can be done.
Kidnest Regards
Dan
