Impress, attract and get noticed!

The 2012 Startups Awards will take place at London's Kensington Roof Gardens on December 7. Now in it’s ninth year, the Startups Awards has earned a reputation for unearthing some of the UK’s finest entrepreneurial businesses, and shining a spotlight on the start-up market. Previous winners have gone on to enjoy phenomenal success, including BeatThatQuote.com, Wonga.com, Ella’s Kitchen, Glasses Direct, The Book Depository, Naked Wines and most recently The Cambridge Satchel company.

The prestigious awards, which recognise the UK’s most creative, innovative and ambitious new businesses, provided a fantastic opportunity for finalists to network with likeminded entrepreneurs – including the award judges – over a lively champagne reception and three-course lunch. There are 14 categories open to companies that commenced trading less than 3 years ago. Covering every business area, these include Young Start-up of the Year and Online Business of the Year.

All of the winners were selected by a judging panel consisting of some of the UK’s top entrepreneurs, including Duncan Bannatyne, a business angel on the BBC programme Dragons' Den, Marc Worth founder of Stylus and multimillionaire internet entrepreneur and Julie Dean, co-founder of the Cambridge Satchel Company. The winners are announced at the lunch and there will be one overall winner who will get the highly coveted title of NatWest Startups Business of the Year.

“We’re rightly proud of the Startups Awards for recognising the best of UK entrepreneurial talent,” said Startups founder, David Lester. “Each year we unearth a whole set of innovative, disruptive new businesses and entrepreneurs that continue to make people sit up and pay attention to the start-up market.”

Benefits to companies entering the awards include raised profile, national and local press coverage, and endorsement by the expert judging panel. Winners and finalists will also be provided with a logo to use on marketing literature and letterheads, and a template press release to maximise media coverage. Video interviews of all winners will also be displayed on the Startups Awards website.

The deadline for entries is 14 September 2012.
