The British Library’s sold-out event for black entrepreneurs, Winners – The Rise and Rise of Black British Entrepreneurs, has been made available as a webcast from the British Library’s website www.bl.uk/bipc.

The video of the networking event lasts around an hour-and-a-half and includes a panel discussion featuring four of the UK’s leading black business role models who share the secrets of their success.

The panel comprises Tim Campbell, the winner of BBC2’s The Apprentice in 2005, Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones, also known as ‘The Black Farmer’ with his range of Black Farmer brands of sausages, Charles Ejogo, the founder of Umbrolly and Yana Johnson, founder of Yana Cosmetics.

The event was the latest in a series of British Library events and workshops aimed at entrepreneurs.

There are currently over 10,000 black-owned private sector businesses in London alone, contributing over 70,000 jobs and a combined annual turnover exceeding £4.5bn to London’s economy.

Head of business marketing at the British Library Isabel Oswell, said: “The panel discussion and networking event was phenomenally successful and generated a huge amount of interest. By recording the event and making it available as a webcast we are enabling a much wider audience than was able to actually attend to share in the insights offered by our tremendous role model speakers.”
