Aspiring entrepreneurs have the opportunity to learn important skills for starting their own business at an intensive course hosted by a regional business support service.

Business Link Leicestershire, along with De Montfort University, will be running the Starting in Business course, a two-day workshop this autumn that will cover entrepreneurial basics such as business planning, finance, marketing and legal issues.

Academics from the university’s Leicester Business School, as well as external business advisers, will also highlight other aspects of starting a business.

“This course is invaluable for anyone thinking of starting a business. In two intensive days it covers all the issues that candidates need to consider,” said Janette Pallas, business incubation and enterprise manager at De Montfort University.

“Experienced advisers will help with the development of the business idea, consider the market for the product or service and start the financial forecasting for the business.”

The first course takes place on 25 and 26 October at DMU's Innovation Centre in Oxford Street, Leicester. It costs £32 per delegate.

It will be repeated on 8 and 9 November, and on 22 and 23 November.
