Due to popular demand, the deadline for the 2007 Startups Awards has now been extended.

Inspiring start-ups now have until July 31 to get their entries in. The awards are looking for entries from impressive companies who are confident they are one of the best start-up businesses in the UK.

The awards, organised by Startups.co.uk, contain fifteen categories, including the Community Impact Award, Retailer of the Year, Franchisee of the Year, Team of the Year and a new category for 2007: Green Business of the Year.

Winners of each category will then compete to be named the NatWest Business Startup of the Year and collect a grand prize of £5,000.

This year’s panel of judges includes Jonathan Moules, the Financial Times’ entrepreneurship correspondent, Tim Campbell, winner of 2005’s The Apprentice, Karen Hanton, founder of Toptable.co.uk and a whole host of other entrepreneurs and business representatives.

All privately owned UK businesses that have been trading for less than three years, and employ less than 60 people, are eligible to enter. The finalists will be announced on August 24.
