Hi
I am just about to finish my BSc in computer science finally after 3 years !!! and i have decided to start up my own company specialising in web development, graphic development and proper software development using languages such as JAVA, i've done enough research to know how to manage the biz and also i used to do web development before hand so i am very confident with that, plus my final project was a complex stock market system software both designed and developed by myself using java (client and server[

]).
The only problem i have upto the date is that i couldn't find a right office. I'm based in london and looking for a small office in london as well.
The office needs to be outside central and bascially be as cheap as possible as i cant afford expensive rentals just yet considering all the hardware software i have to purchase.!!!
i have few my mates from uni that gonna join me in the co about 3 of them, and basically office has to have enough room for 5 computers and abit extra for just office stuff !!!.
If anyone can guide me with the office premises and the price range i would be looking at i would be most greatful.
many thanks to u all and good luck.
360modena.

they had great deals on offices in my area. usually the local council has offices it wants rid of and rents them at a very low price
Incidently is there any way i could be of assistance with regards to the IT equipment?

Hi, 360
I work with a great number of companies in your position and nearly all start with the same question regarding offices. I always give the same advice; do not move into an office until you a revenue stream that will support it. There is no need to waste money on somewhere else to sit when you can probably operate from home until you get going. It seems you have a solid proposition, so why burn up valuable early income or precious financial resources when you don’t have to?
Having an office will not give your business any advantage over those that work from home. It will not endow it with legitimacy nor a more professional standing, only you can do that. Many of the regular contributors to this forum work from home and do very well.
Visit potential clients in their premises or book somewhere, like the IoD. It will prove cheaper and will mean your new business isn’t saddled with debt from the moment it starts.
Good luck!

Hi
Many thanks to you all for your excellent posts, i apprecite it. As the budget is tight i might actually stick with john's advice and start it from home and as the biz grows and get established well, may consider moving to an office. By the way, does anyone have any suggestions for a good company name (software oriented)?!
regards,

Probably a good idea to start up from home and move on from there. Make some money and then expand comfortably. A company you should contact is Messagemail http://www.messagemail.co.uk on 0800 376 0044 and ask to speak with Simon Curran.
Messagemail can:
1. probably sort you out with office space (when the time comes)
2. Take your calls, acting as a secretarial service which could help give the impression that you are a bigger organisation and also free up your time to work and meet with clients etc.
As for a name for your company, you can use our trading name [
