FREE International calls

Call both landlines and mobiles in many countries across all seven continents for free or very cheaply. All you do is:

1. Dial the access number 0870 794 3093
(on weekends the number is 0844 570 3093)

2. Dial your international number in full
(including 00 and country code)

Cheap or Free International calls from your mobile phone. Some service providers' mobile tariffs UK National (0870) calls are bundled with your free minutes package - and some service providers also bundle 0844 calls with your free minutes package! O2's free bundled minutes include 0870 and 0844 numbers, and also my own 3G free bundled minutes include 0870 and 0844 numbers, so I just make international calls free of charge just using my 3G free bundled minutes.

From a BT landline dialling 0870 costs 7.51p/min daytime and 3.75p/min evenings, while the 0844 number is 5p/min all weekend. Costs are similar from other providers (e.g. ntl, TalkTalk, telewest), but you can call them or look at an online tariff guide to check.

Calling from a mobile: You may be able to call for free using your inclusive minutes, just phone your network operator to check. I am on Orange Everyday 50 and I use my daily 50 free minutes to call abroad, after that it costs me 1p/min off-peak. Remember to only press the call button after you dial the access number, and not again after dialling the international number.
