London mayor Ken Livingstone has unveiled plans for a month-long celebration aimed at boosting the Capital's economic recovery.

Throughout September, the Everyone's London programme will feature a series of over 100 festivals, one-off promotions and other public events designed to encourage pride in the Capital and show the very best of what it has to offer.

"The aim is for 7 million Londoners and visitors to London to look at the city's offerings with new eyes," Livingstone said. "There is something for absolutely everyone because that's what this city stands for."

Commencing on 1 September, the campaign will feature street festivals in Regent and Oxford Streets, a boat race down the Thames, jazz in Greenwich, tours of the City's most exceptional public and private buildings, a cycle race, dinner and theatre offers and more.

Backed by the Mayor's Office, Visit London and Transport for London, organisers hope the campaign will encourage tourists and Londoners back onto transport and into the city's hotspots and shopping areas following last month's bomb attacks.

"Everyone's London will certainly begin to revitalise and reinvigorate London's visitor economy," said James Bidwell, of Visit London, which is hosting the special offers on dining, theatre and hotel rooms throughout the campaign.

Transport for London (TfL) will also undertake a concomitant campaign to promote the Capital's transport network over the next three months.

It will highlight the bus, Tube, tram and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) systems and will offer deals for the London Eye and London Zoo, among other attractions.
