ufindus.com or iomart.com terms of trading
Here we go I had to shout out about this I advertised with ufindus.com and iomart.com over a year ago cost me a lot of money at the time. I thought I give it ago to get some extra business as far as I am concerned it never worked well that’s life you try it to find out this was back in 2005 I got a phone call on the 18 July 2006 saying I owed them money here we go I said I owe you nothing I advertised with you in 2005 then he tells me that it get auto renewed very 12 months with out even notifying the customer I said that not right he said its in the terms and conditions I was fuming I can not believe a company can get away with this they had me over a barrel I dug out there invoice and it states on the invoice you have to inform them in writing within 60 days before the year runs out to cancel the agreement who bloody remembers after a year most companies send out reminders that it due for renewal I had to pay up to July this year for some thing I did not authorize and the cheek of ufindus.com even said I have to pay extra £50 for cancellation fee so paid that as well. I got a phone call today from guess that ufindus.com say owed them money I said I paid you then he tells me I have an other account and they want another £300 + £50 cancellation fee or they will take me to court. I am now going to contact a solicitor to find out where I stand but just though I post this topic to warn people if you are going to deal with ufindus.com or iomart.com beware of there unfair terms and conditions it will cost you a fortune if you forget to cancel 60 days before the end date. In addition, I don’t think many people will remember to write a cancellation letter from one year to next and if you don’t they will not inform you it due for renewal they just keep billing you. Talk about money spinner I bet they have taken hundreds of thousands pounds of UK customers not remembering to cancel.

I've worked for internet marketing companies, and you tend to find the only people who ever hear about people like ufindus are the people who they ring. You never see them on the tele or hear about them on the radio.
Ideally you need to be advertising with companies who are advertising themselves. Yell is a prime example, and it's a household name.
I used to work for a company called askalix.co.uk, and to be honest I felt really bad working there because I had no idea why people would buy advertising with them when they would get better results from yell.
The only reason I would advertise with a company like this is for a link back to my site, but is it really worth the money. I could spend a little time putting together another little website that would link back to me and save the money.
Sorry to hear about your problems, what they've done is very misleading, but it's the only way they know they will get your money, because they know that after 12 month you will never renew because the return for your investment will be nothing. I always work on the principle of if the advertising pays for itself, then it's been worth it, if it doesnt, then it's been useless.

I hope your solicitor can help.

Sorry to hear about that.
This company is about 10 mins down the road from me. I'm very sceptical about any web advertising
with these companies.
I'm often frustrated by the way their inaccurate search results seem to populate search engines like google. Heck I remember one time when you could do a search on a product or service and get a decent response in the top two or three results, now you need to wade through all the junk to get to the proper results.

Is this the company based in Lancaster ? if so i have had 3 clients come from them with hour long complaints , from over pricing to having a website built that 1, got 0 hits and 2, they wouldnt allow the client ftp access to host the site elsewhere or have any changes made to it.
Btw using their links as the subject gets them higher in search engines (do you really want to help them )

hi there i paid £220 a year ago for advertising from ufindus, iomart promised me big branding on the tv, radio, billboard, phone boxes. i have heard nothing from them until 2 weeks ago when they phoned me and asked me to renew my contract and wanted another £200. i told them to get lost. so if anyone is contacted by them please do the sensible thing stay well away.

if i was you guys i would open a page at one of your websites and find as many unhappy customers as you can see how they stand against 100 people complaining in a court room + if you all complained to trading standards they would probally have to at least pretend to close down (nulling all contracts) before they reopened again as a different name.

Thanks for all your interest in my misfortunes and by the looks of things hundreds of other businesses has fell victim of ufindus.com this seems that ufindus.com are stealing from small business all over the UK by trapping them it a contract that there sales staff did not tell us about the time you get your invoice this means you have already verbally signed so you can not cancel. Would it be nice if Google. COM would block ufindus.com from their search listings because of what they doing if fact I writing this I will contact Google to see what they have to say as I found out that ufindus are no longer paying for keywords on Google now. Keep comments coming good or bad as I do not plan to pay them any more monies, I am just waiting now for court summons, and when it arrives I will be fighting it all the way. Below are some links to other sites the one which explains just what ufindus.com are all about is iomart-victim-support.co.uk. Thanks for the tip on the back link from here to their website I did not think about that now removed.
Many Thanks Everybody
Darren

Hi there,
We very rarely look around for victims of ufindus and only found this site after our last blogger on The Orange Pages posted his complaint showing how he found us. We can tell you that at last we seem to be getting through to ufindus.com aka iomart that they simply cannot get away with the antics they have been using for so long. Cantufind.com have been very thorough in paying Lawyers to check the statute books to see if 'Victims' of iomart/ufindus have any rights, and guess what! YOU DO!
We won't duplicate the contents on The Orange Pages for obvious reasons not withstanding the fact Google hate duplicated material so we will simply invite people along to this site if they want more than just a moan at ufindus.com. The Orange Pages is part of the Cantufind.com group, and are one of a few organisations that have actually managed to help victims to get some money back which is fantastic, but we can't help if you don't post.
It's not our policy to go looking for victims, you have to come to us if you want help, you'd be surprised at how much of a chance you have.
Ufindus are doomed, but to make this happen quicker we need ALL of these sites to band together in a common goal, Cantufind will do the hard stuff, like paying for legal representation and even down to offering free websites to victims who are well out of pocket, so anyone reading this response, let's stop moaning about this company, lets do something about them.
Crikey, does this page autorefresh about a zillion times a minute or is it me? Makes typing pretty hard!
Let's hit ufindus/iomart where it hurts, in the pocket.

We aren't swimming with them, we are trying to catch them and we will that's for sure!
What's you interest in them if we might ask?
