My business idea is ukfamilyrooms, its a gem of an idea, thoroughly researched for over a year, very niche and practical. It involves hosting on a website all hotels and guest houses that can accomodate a family of at least 5 people in 1 single room rather that the family needing to book 2 seperate rooms thus incurring double the expense. The site will soley list all available accomodation in a specific area of the country in which the clients wish to visit,so be inputting their destination will filter out all accomodation specific to the larger family. The hotels themselves will pay a one off payment to list their site and ukfamilyrooms will redirect any potential bookings direct to their own site. The problem is setting up the site, ive being quoted around £1000 is there any way i can construct the site myself for cheaper bearing in mind ive NO website building experience at all and not enough cash to take the quote. The site needs to be able to upload photo and text nothing elaborate.Ive every confidence in the venture and feel like money is slipping through my hands the longer i leave it.Thanks in advance

The first thing you should do is register your domain asking for ideas or quotes without owning the domain name someone will come along and register it.I have used ukreg.com for years and a very good service and support. £1000 sounds very cheap to me have you seen any of the portfolio of the work this person/company has done

Hi Wavey, sorry for the delay in replying, but I have just joined the forum..
I would not start this business. The key here, is marketing of the business, and making sure that the hotels that you have on the site look amazing, and so on... If i was a hotel, and you were asking me for money to promote my hotel, and it appeared on a 'cheap' looking site, I certainly would not be interested...
So the £ 1000 budget... that in my opinion is way too small... This site is your shop window.... you have very little else to promote it, therefore it needs to be 5 star...It needs to have the wow factor...
When you mention doing it yourself... I am truly concerned... If you cannot find the money to invest in a proper website... I would strongly urge you not to bother wih the idea...
How will you promote the site... you will be invisible to google for many months... have you got a budget for PPC, or any other marketing... Without marketing of the website, you are dead...
Sorry, but with no or very little funds.. I would not bother with this, unless it is a hobby and not a business..
Good Luck

I agree you can't realistically start and promote a website of this nature for less than maybe £5000 , probably alot more but this is trying all the trick and gimmicks.
Very best of luck but I'd leave it alone.
