Hi, my name is Danielle and i,m in the process of writing a business plan and getting help from the Princes Trust and InBiz with setting up my handmade jewellery and accessories business.
At the moment i have to identify who my customer is,how much they spend and how the jewellery industry is doing and how much people spend on things like gold jewellery, silver, and fashion jewellery.I,ve got some facts and figures from looking at trade mags such as Jewellery in Britian (jib), retail jeweller and Jf-W ( Jewllery, fashion and watches) but i need more in-depth facts and figures and reasons why and buying an in-depth marketing report is out of the question due to cost ( around £350-£750.00).
So if anyone has done any research into this ( i,m targeting customers aged 24-35 years, who live in wealthy/trendy areas such as Chelsea,Nottinghill/Westbourne Grove, Primrose Hill and areas of Fulham/Parsons Green and the Kings Road.)
Please let me know your findings if you don,t mind sharing info,or could anyone point me towards publications or documents that hold the info i need, thats either free to obtain or of a low cost. Please contact me here or e-mail me at dnllscott@yahoo.co.uk
Thankyou to everyone in advance, and if anyone needs info on market stalls, packaging ,craft shows and trade shows ( as well as how to show at London Fashion Week )don,t hesiatate to mail me.

Hi Danielle,
I should be able to help you with this. I am a Fashion Jewellery Manufacturer and wholesaler, and I do have extensive data on the subject. I have a 100 page report, full of statistics, regarding latest trends in costume jewellery business, import export details, etc.
I have also done a fair bit of market trading in different markets around UK when I first started, so in a way I have gathered a fair bit of experience from the ground level.
I have dropped you an Email.

Hello Ash
I have visited your website. Very nice jewellery.
Is it possible to get a copy of your report. I recently started an online business selling sterling silver jewellery from Africa. I do well with personal sales and when I have been to a fair but websales are very slow.
I am trying to understand jewellery trends, customers, etc and your report sounds really useful.
Thanks
Brenda

Gosh I feel bad for the lovely Ash who kindly volunteered to help one person and now loads of people are hounding!
Is there any way I could have access to the information as well? I'm trying desperately to write a business plan for my jewellery company in my spare time, and trying to save money on research, it's so hard...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Please email me at katebaxter78@hotmail.com
Thanks so much!

I know Ash has responded to some of the requests above - but why do you all expect him (her?) to contact YOU?
Surely, the polite - and business like - way to contact Ash would be to email him/her with details of what you need. Most posters emails are available in their profiles.
I'm not having a go at the posters on this thread specifically - it is rife all over this forum. If we are starting up in business then we must be business-like.
BTW dani - I know you have been studying to go into the jewellery trade - and I wish you luck - but you have to be business like too. As an existing 'jeweller' I emailed and offered help some 12 months ago - still not heard from you :-(
Okay - whinge over
