I have worked for a major bank, and have a good understanding of secured loans, home improvment loans, unsecured loans etc. I also have a good knowledge of the data protection act and all the usual financial stuff. However it is over 18months since i held that position, however since then i successfully setup and sold another company. Im now working full time again as a consultant, however I am constantly being asked for advice on loans, mortgages, credit cards etc, So im looking into doing all the paperwork to obtain my FPC & CeFA, I have looked at a few websites to find out more about costs, and i do have an idea.
Is there anyone on this website who wouldnt mind acting as a mentor or providing me a link to a message board forum for IFA's to help me out and get started.
I think i have reasearched all the details about exams and exam units with the CII & IFS. But im more confused about how things work after that, (i know im probably thinking ahead a bit) for example once i have the qualifications how do i then become able to setup a loan on behlaf of a customer, who do you speak to? do the banks and insurance companies approach you once you have passed the examinations?
This will probably be a part time venture with a "see how it goes approach" but i am well known in a lot of local communitys and local business groups so advertising and getting known isnt really problem for me.
Any help would be appreciated especially from a current IFA
Thanks in Advance
