Hello everyone.
I in the process of starting up a website design business and would like some comments on my demo site to show customers what I can do.
This is my second attempt as my first attempt was just a plane site with no graphics so I could get the coding right.
I am hoping to have set up my business in the next couple of months. I am self taught and looking to be a part time designer if that is even possible.
All comments good or bad welcome, and any tips from designers also welcome.
Also I will be looking for some clients to build up a portfolio soon and prices will be low so if your interested drop me an email @ info@sixtytwelve.co.uk
(Content management system and administration demo site still a work in progress)
(don’t ask about the theme of the demo site even I don’t know why I chose grass)

It's not a bad site, but to be honest, I was developing sites like that many moons ago and I am not in the web design business (just do a few sites here and there for people off with enquires off my sites)
That's not to say you wont make any money out of it. With the amount of designers out there, I think you need to have a sites that has the "Wow" factor. (or even that's not a bad site factor!)
However, good luck with your new venture as we all need to start somewhere.
Cheers

I have to agree with Designr on this one, its not a bad site but to be blunt its very basic with limited design and if you'd have told me it was someones school project i would have believed you.
But all power to you if you can make a go of it....like the above post....we all have to start somewhere.
(Designr, nice site you have there btw
)

Thank you for the honesty.
Looks like I need to step it up a lot.
Think I will pull it off the web and redesign without the grass
Cheers

Your site seems to be down, don't give up just because of negative feedback. It's all good and will help you develop.
You will step up eventually if you just keep at it. When I first started designing I was told 'Don't give up the day job', but I ignored that and carried on and got a ton better.
Also in the meanwhile, you will always have a market to sell to, it's just that as you get better over time your market will gradually change and step up with you.
Hopefully it's down because you are working on it rather that you feel despondant about feedback and have given up
Best Wishes
Amanda
