Woolylee, I think we should share some information. (Networking!!) I am thinking of starting up an online videogame rental business. Not compteting, but we will have similar suppliers! Maybe I can even pass my customers on to you if they'd like to buy games......maybe :-)
I've asked Microsoft about XBox games and they sugegsted Gem (www.gem.co.uk) who are the commercial distributor for Xbox in the UK. I've emailled them, but as yet I have not receieved any reply.
I've also emailed Sony and Nintendo, but neither have replied as yet.
You will find that your local "Macro" sells computer games, but maybe not as cheap as you'd hope.
If you find any useful resource, please let me know, and I will do the same for you.

Lee, Don't worry, I too am at very early stages of planning. At the moment I am looking into every possibilty. At the moment I have not come across any real "showstoppers". I have not spoken to any banks, accountants, or sorted out any of the legal issues (limewire..).
All being well I would imagine starting up in 8-12 weeks. Maybe we could discuss all of the things we need to think about?
Really I'm just a bloke with an idea, a small amount of money and a lot of time on my hands. If your in a similar position then maybe we can help one another. When your ready.

Hello
I'm trying to find better computer suppliers and its hard going.
There doesnt seem to be much profit in the ones I have.
I would have thought sony, xbox would be suppliers themselfs?

If you are renting out games (someone mentioned that) You could always buy second-hand as once you rent them they will become second-hand/ex-rental anyway.
You could get them from places like cash-convertors,car-boot sales or put an advert in the local bargain pages.
When some people buy a new console they may sell their intire collection and thats when you step in and buy the lot!
Just make sure they are in good condition with all the instructions.
You could also introduce an exchange policy. When the customer gets bored of a game they can trade it in for a new one.
You will get a much better profit margin than selling new games.
Good luck
