I am working on a site that will be live in about a months time. The domain is there, I am just working on content etc. Is there any harm in submitting it to google now ? I am thinking if its going to sandbox it anyway, why not do it while I am still working on it and its technically not live ?

You seem to have started a number of threads on broadly similar subjects that I have deleted so if anyone would also care to comment on your other threads I have listed the points raised below:-
1 Do you actually need to manually submit your site to Google or does it in fact find you anyway when doing a scan for new content ?
2 Can you still submit to HOTBOT ?

HI Ian,
The problem here is that you can never know when googlebot will visit your site, it can be today , tomorrow or even 3 months later. Now if you have a domain registered and submit it straight away, then what if Google Bot decided to show up tonight? I have seen it happening! not may be overnight, but some times to get crawled sooner than you can expect.

I would recommend that you DO NOT submit to search engines before your site is fully complete. If your site is botted before its ready google will notice incomplete content. There maybe error 404 pages which is very bad for search engine optimisation. You may have broken links which is also bad. Under construction pages is also suicidal. Ther may also be a lck of good content and your in/out links will be non-excistant. After all this google will assign you with a poor PR and probably decide to not come back to your site for a long time.

Hi, I agree with the other posts, you really need to submit the site in full, including a sitemap.xml this way it helps the bots to find all of your pages.
