I'm trying to design my banner for my website. I would like it to be along the lines of these two examples I have pasted below:

Can anyone recommend any web sites with free graphics or the best applications to do it myself?
Thanks,
Lautone

I run my own web design company, so if you urgently need help, feel free to contact me by email and I'll see what I can do for you.
In my opinion, using free graphics will only serve to cheapen your site's appearance. If you want to "have a go" at creating your own banner, then something like PaintShop Pro is a good paint package to start with. You can download a free trial demo of the software from the address below:

Hope that helps,

Do you have any budget to get it done professionally? If so i'd reccomend Ben at yetmore.com
If not then maybe do something simple like just an pretty text to start with. Have you tried searching for design forums i'm sure theres bound to be something that will be able to help a beginner.
Good Luck!!

Hi Lautone!
I am website/ graphic designer.
You can use some stylish text, with a background going with you web site scheme. You can find some free graphics in coral draw, Paint shop, and same time you can use these allpications to design banners.
Hope it is helpful to you.
Incase, you need any more help from me, please get in touch with me.

I agree that free graphics do tend to have a certain look to them that makes them obvious as free and then cheapens your business and makes it appear leass professional.
I think it would be better to try Paint Shop Pro which is a good package, and create your own - if you aren't artistic or don't have a good eye for colours and what appears professional, it would be better to find a well priced designer rather than cheapen your company with poorly designed banners.
Best Wishes
Amanda

Thanks eveyone for your replies.
I've been in contact with a designer to do this for me.
I had a look at the free graphics and agree with you all on their 'look'
Thanks again.
